1. Who we are
Optywise ("we", "us", "our") is a Forward Deployment Engineering company headquartered at 513, Ambrosia Galaxy, Pancard Club Road, Baner, Pune – 411045, India. We serve clients primarily in the United States and Canada. Questions about this policy: consulting@optywise.com.
2. What we collect and why
Necessary cookies and local storage
We store your cookie consent choice in localStorage under the key ow_consent. This record contains only: your preference (analytics on/off), a version number, and a timestamp. No personally identifiable data is stored in this record. This storage is necessary for the site to respect your choice and does not require consent.
Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) to collect:
- Pages visited and time on page
- Referral source (how you arrived at our site)
- Approximate geographic location (country/city, derived from IP and not stored as IP)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Click events on key page elements
GA4 does not receive your name, email address, or any other identifying information unless you voluntarily submit a contact form (in which case the form submission is handled separately and not forwarded to GA4).
Retention: 14 months (Google's default for event-level data). You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
Analytics: PostHog
If you accept analytics cookies, we also use PostHog (PostHog Inc., US cloud) to collect:
- Page views and navigation paths
- Click and interaction events
- Session recordings (a replay of your mouse movements, scrolling, and clicks; no keystrokes in password or sensitive fields are captured)
- Browser and device information
PostHog data is stored on servers in the United States. Retention: 1 year. You can review PostHog's privacy practices at posthog.com/privacy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your analytics data with any third party for marketing purposes.
Advertising — Meta Pixel (Facebook)
If you accept advertising cookies, we use Meta Pixel (provided by Meta Platforms Inc.) to collect:
- Page views and navigation events on optywise.com
- Conversion events (e.g., consultation form submissions) so we can measure the effectiveness of our ad campaigns
- Standard browser and device signals sent by the fbevents.js library
Meta may use this data to show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram and to build aggregated audience insights. We do not sell this data, but Meta's own Privacy Policy governs how they process it. Retention: determined by Meta's data policies.
3. How we gate analytics and advertising cookies
We implement Google Consent Mode v2. On every page load, analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization are all set to denied before the GA4 script initialises. They are only upgraded to granted based on your category choices.
PostHog is initialised with opt_out_capturing_by_default: true and session recording is stopped immediately on load. Neither event capture nor session recording activates unless you accept analytics cookies.
Meta Pixel: the fbevents.js script is never loaded until you accept advertising cookies. A lightweight stub queues calls without making any network request to Meta's servers. Only when you grant advertising consent does fbevents.js load and send data to Meta.
If you select "Reject non-essential" or have not yet made a choice, no GA4, PostHog, or Meta Pixel network requests are sent to their data-collection endpoints.
4. EU / UK visitors and GDPR / ePrivacy
For visitors in the European Union and United Kingdom, analytics cookies are a non-essential use of technology that requires your prior, freely given consent under the ePrivacy Directive and UK PECR. We obtain that consent through the cookie banner before any analytics data is collected. You may withdraw consent at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer.
5. Your choices
- Change your cookie preferences at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page.
- Opt out of GA4 across all sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Delete stored consent data by clearing your browser's localStorage for optywise.com.
Your consent choice expires after 6 months, at which point the banner will reappear.
6. Contact and enquiry data
When you submit a consultation request or contact form, we receive your name, email address, company name, and any message you provide. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to a mailing list without your explicit opt-in, and we do not share this data with third parties except where required to deliver our services (e.g., our CRM).
7. Third-party links
Our site links to third-party websites (LinkedIn, YouTube, GitHub, etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their policies directly.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our data practices change (for example, when we add new analytics tools). If we add a new cookie category, the consent banner will re-appear automatically. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
9. Contact us
For any questions about this policy or to exercise any data rights, contact us at consulting@optywise.com or write to us at our registered address above.
